CEO Interview: ChargeNet

Tell us a little bit about your mission at ChargeNet Stations.

ChargeNet Stations’s mission is eliminate all the major contributors to climate change concurrently by displacing GHG’s from ICE’s, fossil generation, and the highest emission food supply on the planet.  What current project are you most excited about and why? We’re excited about the portfolio of 120 locations we’re building with the 2nd largest Taco Bell franchisee in the US where we’ll be adding EV fast chargers, energy storage, and solar carports in most locations.  There are other partnerships that we’ll be announcing publicly over the next few months with other franchisee’s and brands.

You are known for your software platforms, how does this apply to the intelligent transportation sector?

I would say that our software provides a competitive moat around us being able to capture revenue streams in ways others aren’t able to, but it applies to us being ablr to optimize EV drivers charging behaviors and the QSRs dayparts.  Do you have any examples you can share of a successful implementation of your technology? Our first location with Golden Gate Bell at the first of over 100 Taco Bell locations in California is finally operational.  We’re excited to have 80kW of solar, 268kWh of battery storage, and 6 x 75kW DC fast chargers operating at the Taco Bell in South San Francisco.

What are ChargeNet Stations’ biggest opportunities in the next 1-2 years?

Our biggest opportunities are working with our QSR partners to turn their parking lots into profit centers.  With the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure plan supporting the development of fast charging stations near federal highways, we’ll be able to build out a network with our partners at QSR locations where people frequent the most.

What are you most looking forward to for ITS World Congress 2022 in Los Angeles?

We’re looking forward to meeting with policy makers and utility leaders to discuss how we can smooth out the process of getting these public fast charging stations built.  What can we expect to learn from your team on-site at #ITSWC2022? You can learn about how ChargeNet Stations is building the fast charging network that fits in with the way people live their lives.
