Utah projects a 150% increase in transit ridership between 2015 and 2040, while the average household is expected to spend 3.6 fewer days driving each year by 2040.
The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is accelerating its transition to clean transportation, with plans to replace approximately 40% of its diesel bus fleet with battery-electric buses by 2040 while expanding electrification across its rail, paratransit, vanpool, and on-demand services.
In 2023, Salt Lake City committed to becoming Utah’s first Vision Zero city, with the goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2035.
Salt Lake City’s new $5.1 billion international airport is served by all major U.S. airlines, offering more than 700 daily flights to over 100 nonstop destinations.

SALT LAKE CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is one of the West's leading air travel hubs, served by 13 airlines offering more than 700 daily nonstop flights to over 90 destinations. Located just 10 minutes from downtown, SLC provides convenient access to the Salt Palace Convention Center, hotels, restaurants, and attractions, making travel to and from the city quick and easy.
TRAX LIGHT RAIL
TRAX is Utah Transit Authority's light rail system, providing convenient service throughout the Salt Lake Valley. The Green Line offers direct service between Salt Lake City International Airport and downtown, with trains running approximately every 15 minutes. Downtown also serves as the transfer point for the Red and Blue Lines, making it easy to reach hotels, attractions, the University of Utah, and other destinations across the city.
UTA PUBLIC TRANSIT
Utah Transit Authority (UTA) operates an extensive network of buses and the FrontRunner commuter rail, making it easy to travel throughout the Greater Salt Lake area. Bus routes connect to TRAX and FrontRunner stations across the region, while the downtown Free Fare Zone allows attendees to ride TRAX and buses at no cost when traveling within the designated downtown area—making it simple to explore restaurants, hotels, and attractions during your visit.
