SQUARE ONE EDUCATION NETWORK
WHAT IS SQUARE ONE EDUCATION NETWORK?
A Michigan-based nonprofit serving K–12 students and educators through hands-on STEM programming and experiences. Their six different Innovative Vehicle Design (IVD) student engineering competitions provide real-world, mobility career focused learning opportunities. High School students are designing go-kart sized electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles on the platform of a toddler sized Jeep. Middle and High School teams can choose from 1/10th scale radio controlled vehicles, underwater robots, drones, and palm sized robot cars with a V2X theme. Square One annually reaches 24,000+ students and 500 educators through professional development for teachers and the Innovative Vehicle Design series.
STUDENT EXPERIENCE
A selected group of 25-30 students will attend the ITS America Conference & Expo to showcase their work and experience the event. Student teams will bring their Autonomous IVD Vehicles and displays to exhibit at designated space in the Expo Hall. Vehicles will be capable of demonstrating some autonomous capabilities.
